Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 20, 2026
Last updated: July 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how WALTLabs.io, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use Marketing Companion (the “Service”), available at marketing.companionos.io. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
Marketing Companion is a marketing-content platform operated by WALTLabs.io, LLC. It helps teams plan, generate, review, and publish marketing content to connected destinations such as blogs and social networks.
2. Information we collect
a. Account information. When you sign in, we collect your name and email address through our authentication provider (Google Firebase Authentication). We do not store your password.
b. Workspace and content data. Content you create, upload, or generate in the Service — including topics, drafts, LinkedIn cards, brand settings, product/offering details, and related configuration — is stored per workspace so we can provide the Service.
c. Connected-account data (including Buffer). When you connect a third-party account such as Buffer, we receive and store, on your authorization:
- OAuth access and refresh tokens issued by that provider, which let us act on your behalf within the scope you approve;
- Non-sensitive metadata such as the list of your connected Buffer channels and the channel you select for publishing.
We request only the scopes needed to publish content — for Buffer, posts:write (to create posts) and offline_access (to refresh access without asking you to sign in again). We never receive or store your Buffer password, and we do not read your Buffer content beyond the channels needed to let you choose where to publish.
d. Usage and technical data. We collect standard operational data such as log entries, request metadata, and error diagnostics to run, secure, and improve the Service.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, maintain, and secure the Service;
- authenticate you and manage your workspace;
- generate and review marketing content at your direction;
- publish content you approve to destinations you connect (e.g., posting a card to your selected Buffer channel, immediately or on a schedule you set);
- refresh connected-account tokens so publishing keeps working without repeated sign-ins;
- diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the Service.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your connected-account access for anything other than the publishing actions you request.
4. How we share information
We share information only as needed to operate the Service:
- Third-party service providers that host and support the Service, including Google Cloud Platform (hosting, database, and Secret Manager for credential storage) and Google Firebase (authentication).
- AI content providers (e.g., Anthropic) that process content you generate at your direction.
- Destinations you connect, such as Buffer, to which we send the content you choose to publish.
- Legal and safety disclosures where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
- Business transfers, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
5. How we store and protect connected-account credentials
OAuth tokens for connected accounts (including Buffer) are stored encrypted in Google Secret Manager, separated from your other workspace data, and are accessed only by the Service components that perform publishing on your behalf. Access is scoped per workspace. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information; however, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
6. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you disconnect a connected account, or on request, we delete the associated stored tokens. You may request deletion of your account and associated data as described in Section 8.
7. Revoking access
You can disconnect Buffer at any time from within Marketing Companion’s destination settings, which removes our stored tokens for that connection. You can also revoke Marketing Companion’s access directly from your Buffer account settings. Revoking access stops all further publishing on your behalf.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@waltlabs.io. We will respond as required by applicable law (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
9. International users
The Service is operated from the United States and information may be processed there. By using the Service you consent to processing in these locations, subject to this Policy.
10. Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date, and where appropriate we will notify you.
